Please, can you add a screenshot of 2020-10-27 18_20_30-Clipboard.png to this thread? I have the same issue as bertusvanrooy so clearly illustrated. I'd like to try JoHeDe's 9/28/19 suggestion...except it's not visible.

Sorry i was unclear--

I'm trying to get the Position to echo the manually assigned Title sort.

So when I sort by Title in A B C order, I'd like the position to change to reflect A=1 B=2 C=3

Is this possible?

I'd like to create tasks with blank start date. I have a tasklist to which I add tasks and small projects very frequently and on the fly. At present, start date auto-fills with today's date. Thanks for the suggestion--that likely would have worked. Call this solved, albeit via a long work-around

I deleted TDL, reinstalled, set my preferences, then opened the file I was using when the power failed. All's back and all's well.
