Thank you for the preview! I think this is going to be very nice.

Here are a few things I noticed when taking a brief look.

The British flag is not displayed. I was shocked because usually anything British gets privileged treatment in ToDoList.

1. The main menu and the Window title bar are still light. I would have expected those to be dark as well.
   Maybe that's still under construction or there are other reasons to keep it that way.
2. Some default foreground/background color combinations are very hard to read.
3. I believe the font selection and font size controls should also be dark.

This is my usual foreground/background color setting and how it is shown in dark mode. The title text is impossible to read; it becomes white on eggshell.

Yes, certain things are another level of magnitude harder to fix. Best to think of this dark mode as 'Pseudo-Dark-Mode'.

I believe the font selection and font size controls should also be dark.

I have deliberately avoided this so far, but it might not be as hard as I imagine. I'll add it to the list.

The title text is impossible to read

At this stage I'm avoiding changing any user-defined settings because I want to have it all the 'Dark Mode' located in one place and as generic as possible. So, for now, you will need to change the 'Alternate Line Colour' yourself to a more suitable colour.

I will do something about the trailing comments text, and 'Toolbar Icons' is already on my list.

I briefly looked at D5 and noticed a tiny inconsistency: The question mark has a dark background in the main UI but a light one in all preferences dialogs.

That's because 'buttons' are rendered with images by windows, and thus fall outside the possibilities available to me.

The other icon you referred to might be on the main toolbar which can be 'fixed' so there are going to be some of these slight inconsistencies.

Worst in that screenshot, though, is that the checkbox text background colour does not match the dialog background.

I believe I only looked at DP4 and then DP5, very briefly. Unfortunately, I've been busier than I usually prefer and definitely more stressed out and didn't have time to check out my favorite piece of software in depth.

It's quite obvious, now that you've pointed it out. I didn't even notice that, which is an indicator for my absence of mind.

But then again, I don't think it's all that bad. In the past few days and weeks I've had to deal with some of the worst usability crimes and design abominations that anyone put into commercial software. So, no worries, you'd never be able to match those, even if you tried.
