[Calendar] Display tasks with 'Start' but no 'Due' date 'Today'

Post by Ryan » Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:58 am

It's so close!

I am really looking forward to being able to show "active" tasks discontinuously on 'Today' with v8.3 after I complete testing! This is one of my most wanted features and so far working like a charm in testing.

But there is one last critical category of tasks that falls within my anticipated definition of active tasks that I don't think it is yet possible to display discontinuously 'Today'. That is (uncompleted) tasks with 'Start' dates (before 'Today') but no 'Due' dates. After all, you may want to keep an eye on these tasks too when you are using discontinuous display or else they just drop off the visible calendar before completed just like the other active tasks or overdue tasks.

I think of these tasks as fitting into the same definition of an 'active' task as the ones you already created an option to display, so they could just be added to the "Display active tasks on 'Today'" option so "both types" of active tasks would be displayed if that option is checked and that would work fine. BUT, it would be awesome to have a separate option for such tasks as in the screenshot below so the specific type of "active" tasks displayed 'Today' could be fine tuned as needed. (I guess some wording would have to be modified in that section too.)

Either way would be a dream come true! :-D Thank you!

Oh my I'm getting old and senile!

This is already possible. In fact I had it set as you can see in the screenshot above:

The problem is that somewhere along the way I must have accidentally UNchecked this:

And so tasks with Start and no Due Dates can ALREADY be displayed on 'Today' !

And the worst part of all is that I already knew this and had it working at one time but it has been so long since I must have had that box unchecked that I just plain FORGOT!

I'm so sorry Dan, not to mention embarrassed! 😳 It was a brain fart.

This entire thread is solved. ✅ Sorry! Please ignore this suggestion.
