[Task reference] Disabled on server
Hi Dan,
I found a strange behaviour (maybe already existing on previous versions)
When the task list is stored on a server, the "Paste as reference" and the "Paste task attributes" functions are disabled.
But when the task list is stored on the computer, there is no problem.
I tried different settings, changing source control, ... but I can't figure out where it comes from.
Are you already aware of this ?

Re: [Task reference] Disabled on server
Hi Dan,
After some investigations, it seems that the issue is more linked to the task list path.
I have this behaviour with the "Paste as reference" function
Enable
C:\Users\ebfsAd\IsciIocl - cmntl lprts\eBroCoeif\7. uuesrsau\InrinceRaDmCr dlmSsvk veeeeostti\rseqroosl Csouted pTsorlltor\eZaliee\mFile.tdl
Disable
C:\Users\ebfsAd\IsciIocl - cmntl lprts\eBroCoeif\7. uuesrsau\InrinceRaDmCr dlmSsvk veeeeostti\rseqroosl Csouted pTsorlltor\eZaliee\lebysood iL6-uof\mFile.tdl
\\ger.ljioa.abli\esn ntemme fseeMo\pddgenia onbesi rec\mFile.tdl
I didn't find any logic in this (nb of char, nb of hierarchy levels, ...)
It works on local or not, it never works when it's start with \\
Hope it can help

Hi @JeanChristophe
Could you possibly do a quick test with 8.3 to see if the same problem exists there too?

Re: [Task reference] Disabled on server
Hi @JeanChristophe
Can you:
1. Download and run the following debug build (executable only)
2. Enable debug logging (Tools > Enable Debug Logging)
3. Open only one networked tasklist
4. Reproduce the problem using the fewest steps possible
5. Close TDL
6. Email 'ToDoList.log' to me at: todolist.forums@abstractspoon.com

Re: [Task reference] Disabled on server
Hi Dan,
First answer, the issue is not present on the 8.3 version. It comes with the 9.
I continue with your recommandations, if my organisation allows it.
Kind regards

Dan,
I also take the opportunity of this post (I don't know where else to write it) to give you my feed back on the version 9.
I realy like it and already always use it.
No really, I wouldn't go back
Thank you again for this improvement and all those to come

- It gives a more professional look to TDL,
- The "long fields" like file path, dependencies, ... are more readable,
- The ability to sort or categorise the edit fields is, after some practice quicker
- ...

Re: [Task reference] Disabled on server
I'm moving this to 'Questions' because I'm totally unable to reproduce the problem.
