[Calendar] Strikethrough tasks that are done for 'today'

I would love to have a feature where I can see a list of every task on the calendar for 'today' and be able to strikethrough each task (just for the day) but not change any other attributes like the start or due dates or completion date.

It's not about completing the task, it's about addressing it on the day it appears and doing what is necessary related to that task just for that day so you know you are done with that task for 'today'.

Then when the new day starts, all the strikethroughs are gone and you start over.

In other words I'm not completing the task. I'm just striking it through on the 'today' tile to indicate I am done with it for today. If it appears again tomorrow fine, but I would like to be able to go down my checklist of tasks for the day and strike them through until there are none left.

Just a thought... A partially transparent strikethrough line might work best if that's possible (without rewriting TDL from scratch that is! :o ).

Here is a diagram of what I mean.

HI @Ryan

That's what 'flags' were intended to be for:

You flag a whole bunch of tasks, then filter on 'Flagged Tasks', and unflag them when you are done.

Other than an existing solution like that, I think this is too specific a feature to warrant the time it would take and the fact that it would not be available in other views,,,

Thank you for the reply Dan, I understand.

I'm thinking about using a custom date and adding rules to my standard calendar filter (which is about 100 rules long now! ) that will hide a task in the calendar when the custom date equals 'today'

That way I can set the custom date for each task I want to mark done for today, and it won't hide it after today as a flag would.

And since there's a convenient 'Today' checkbox on the custom date control, that should be easy to set.

And I can create another filter to show the tasks where the custom date equals 'today' if I want to see what was done today or restore a task to visible.

Not an ideal solution, but maybe useful and pretty easy to implement. Sounds good on paper anyway.

Update: BZZZZZ... sounded good at night, but like so many other ideas the crash came at sunrise! Didn't work. Oh well! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks again Dan.
