Dear AS

New user here. I love the software and have switched all my tasks over. I wish I'd found it sooner, you have an ongoing donation subscriber, thank you.

To the Community:

I would like to make macro keyboard shortcuts that do at least 2 things with 1 shortcut.

Particularly: switch to Tree View and show all tasks & switch to list view and filter tasks to an attribute
  • Is this possible?
  • Can someone point me in the right direction if so?
Thanks, A

Hi @andy.jackman

There's no macro language per-se but User-Defined-Tools (UDTs) can themselves reference any one (or more) of the 200+ menu commands.

You can also create UDTs that reference specific attributes of the currently selected task/tasklist by clicking the 'drop button' to the right of the 'Arguments' field in the UDT preferences.

Thank you

Where is the best place to learn how to make UDTs, I am not a coder and it is not obvious to me what to do, but I can learn.

Try this and this for starters, and ask as many questions as you need.

And if any parts of the process seem unnecessarily hard to you (as a non-coder) please let me know - there's always room for improvement.
