[Tags] Is there a better way to add a new Tag?

When I add a new Tag to a task that already has at least one Tag I do it as shown in the screenshot below.
But this is tricky. And if you make a mistake, you can lose the other tags assigned to that task. And sometimes (I am not sure about this but think it may have happened) it causes problems with your Tag list.
Is there an easier and better way to add new Tags to the Tags list? I thought I once remembered a place you could do this, but if there is, my memory went up in smoke (which is not unusual for me)!
Thanks!

Can you be a bit more specific please?
The alternative would be to manage your Tags via:
Code: Select all
Tools > Preferences > Tasks > Defaults > Dynamic Droplists > Default Tags
... where you could also make the list read-only and then just select Tags using the mouse.

It's a little difficult to describe. I am able to add to the list this way, but since the other tags are already in the small attribute field, you need to be careful that you don't inadvertently delete or alter them.
May I ask... is adding a new tag in the attribute field the way I described it above (in the image) a proper way to add a tag? I wasn't sure how to do it so I just put the new tag name in to the right of the last tag already assigned separated by a comma. It seemed to work, but I just guessed. Sorry, hope this question is clear.

This is good. I put in a default list and made it read only (which as I'm sure you know also makes the current list read only). I think this is the best way for me to manage the list so I don't inadvertently delete a tag.

For me this one is solved (the question in this post is optional now). Thanks for the good advice!

Absolutely. It's always been that way.
