checkbox color options? Or bug?

Hello All:

Not sure what to call this as I haven't been able to find an option to change the color of the background, or foreground of a checkbox. The image below shows the issue. Selected checkboxes are filled in blue and that seems consistent across color schemes (I tried a bunch and all were the same, but not exhaustive). The check in the checkbox; however, in some cases, is a nice-and-contrastry white check and in others there is a blue-black check with limited contrast. [note: click on image as I cannot see in the in-line ]

Note the checkbox on the far lower-right for Start Date in comparison with the checkboxes in the upper-left.

I'd like the checkboxes with high contrast and consistent. Have I mis-specified something, missed a Preference value, is this a MS issue, or is this a bug?

The image is from a 4K Windows 11 machine running 8.2.7.0.

Interesting.

I notice that for the selected task, the checkbox appears to be the same color as the assigned 'Priority' attribute. Wonder it that is related.

You do seem to have some interesting problems @anotherDan!

Unfortunately I've never seen this before nor can conceive of its cause.

1. Do you have another machine with a similar setup you can reproduce the problem on?
2. Can you attach a .png of the checkbox pls as the .jpg is too lossy to investigate?
3. Do you see the same problem in all the other views which display checkboxes?
4. Do multi-value attributes eg. Category display the same problem in their droplist?

Hello All:

First, thanks everyone for taking the time to look at this. I got busy on a project and just now looked at your answers/questions.

And also, I'm NOT trying to have interesting issues!

Ok, below are two .png attachments (for those new (newer, like me a few minutes ago) click on an image for higher resolution). The first is the checkbox color issues showing a black check in a dark blue box. The second is the preferences window showing a white check in the same box.

Thanks for looking at this as I have not found a way to select/change these colors to improve contrast.
