ToDoList pauses and shows a popup if I type an @ sign

Every time I type an @ sign in the comments field of a task, TDL hangs and displays my sign-in name, DaveT. Do you know how I can fix this?

This is intentional. It works like the '@' in facebook and other social media apps.

Can you give me a specific example of where you use '@' so I can see whether there's a heuristic I can put in place to handle your case differently?

Thanks for your help. I made a video with the Snagit screen recording app. It would be great if you could fix the problem. I hope the link works; this is the first time I have tried linking a Snagit video to anyone from OneDrive. I don't know if you remember me, but I used to be a contributor to ToDoList.

Are you aware that <escape> will cancel the popup?

I tried to escape, but it did not release the hang up. It should not hang up to begin with.

Is there a way to turn off the social media feature that causes this problem?
Having ToDoList hang up when I type an @ sign in the comments of a tasklist I use daily isn't enjoyable.
I use ToDoList to manage passwords, and I used to put @ in passwords, but I try not to do that anymore because of this problem.
In many uses, I need to put in my email address, and they all have an @, which hangs my tasklist.
Please help; I have used TDL for 30 years or more. I never used to have this problem.

Not at present.

I'm surprised you haven't run into it before. It's been around for quite a while (since 8.1).

I'll look into adding a preference in 9.1.

I went to the Help menu and found "Record Bug Report..." I tried to make a tasklist fail that has been continually failing, but it no longer fails. Anyway, I made the recording and don't know if you received it. I thanked you in that recording, but just in case you did not receive it, I want to thank you again here.
Now I love TDL again, and you too, Dan. You have dedicated your life to ToDoList. The last version, 9, amazes me.
