Okay, I hope this one doesn't annoy anyone because I know it is a hack and not technically following the rules. I've been a bad boy. But for me it is a really useful feature.
It's a way to show a task on a daily repeating basis in the calendar without having to mark it completed so I do not have to check it off each day to move it to the next day.
So I came up with this hack to accomplish that and maybe someone will find it useful.
Steps:
1. Create the task you want to see every day on your Calendar.
2. Set the Due Date of the task to some arbitrary date before the current date.
3. In Calendar Preferences enable "Treat overdue tasks as being 'Today.'"
Now you have a task that will automatically appear every day in your Calendar.
4. If you want only selected overdue tasks to automatically appear on the Calendar each day and not all overdue tasks do this:
[*] Create an arbitrary custom attribute such as "ShowDaily?" which has an arbitrary value that it can be set to such as "Yes"
[*]Create a filter that filters out all overdue tasks except ones that have "ShowDaily?" set to "Yes."
[*]Set the "ShowDaily?" attribute of those overdue tasks that you want to appear in the Calendar every day to "Yes."
One thing I use this for is this...
I have a Task I call =Check Daily= that has this feature. In the comments for this task I have a list of things I need to check or do on a daily basis. Each item on the list has a task link to a relevant task or parent task that has a group of subtasks I can browse. So it acts as not only a list of things I routinely or temporarily have to review every day (without having to show a visible task for each one which can take up the entire space available for tasks that day), but also serves as an index to the various tasks and groups of tasks I frequently need to access. And it is not necessary for me to set it to complete each day. It is always there automatically on the new day ready to go and I am immediately reminded. I find it extremely useful.
Make a task appear automatically in the calendar every day
Re: Make a task appear automatically in the calendar every day
Clever thinking!
I am fully supportive of such workarounds provided they don't rely on bugs (or other undefined behaviour) which I might later fix and consequently break the workaround.
And that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Thanks Dan... I was concerned that you might find it out of line. Really happy you endorsed it!
And thank you for explaining what triggers your concern too. Makes a lot of sense.
