Custom Attribute Filter Not Working?

Post by EasyGoingPat » Sat Oct 26, 2019 7:56 am

This may simply be a misunderstanding I have with the way ToDoList works but the filtering on a custom attribute does no appear to function as I would expect.

In the attached TDL file, I have a custom attribute specified as shown in the attached screenshot. Note that it is defined as being filterable and has three fixed values.

In the second screenshot, I show the main tab, on which I have set a filter of 'Printed (Paper)' for this custom attribute, yet the display still shows other items that do not have this value.

Is this something I am misunderstanding or is this something that needs investigation?

Kind wishes - Patrick

Hi Patrick

TDL always displays the parents of matching tasks in the 'Task Tree' so that the context is clear.

If you don't want to see non-matching parents, you can try switching to the 'List View'.

Hi,

I kind-of knew this couldn't be a bug. Can't believe I didn't spot the simple pattern that the 'unwanted' items were all parents. Doh!

Sorry to have wasted your time.

Kind wishes - Patrick
