Task Level as Folder
Feature to define a task as a folder (Container) in stead of a task. Perhaps an attribute that sets the behavior as a folder. The result would be a structure where the Folder would act like a sub-list within the current task list and can be nested as required. It is an easy way to group types of projects etc.

Re: Task Level as Folder
Please excuse me to answer, but i would like to understand the advantage of a "attribute-less" folder instead of a task that can eg. summerize some fields like "time spend" or inherit the priority of its children.
Isn't a task already some kind of container with special functions? This is a mindmap view of your structure:
I hope that's not too unkind to answer as "normal" user.
greets,
jo

Re: Task Level as Folder
You are correct, however if you need the top-level to have a permanent function (like for instance a folder for miscellaneous tasks) - as soon as the last task is completed, the top-level task disappears when your Filter is on "B) Incomplete" tasks.
This is because the top level is a TASK and not a CONTAINER. When the last sub-task is completed it assumes the top-level is also completed and must be excluded from the view.

Thank you for the explication!
I think the main tasks stay visible when you uncheck this:
Have you already tried this?

Re: Task Level as Folder
Thank you Jo,
This does seem to have the desired effect. I will try it out and see if works on a practical level, but I'm optimistic. I did check the settings but I must have missed the the one you illustrated.
Thanks again.
Perhaps this suggestion can be closed for now.
Regards - Bertus.

Welcome Bertus

And I'll move it to the "Question' section because it's more of a 'How do I configure the software to ...' enquiry.

Re: Task Level as Folder
Good morning,
Please, can you add a screenshot of 2020-10-27 18_20_30-Clipboard.png to this thread? I have the same issue as bertusvanrooy so clearly illustrated. I'd like to try JoHeDe's 9/28/19 suggestion...except it's not visible.
Thanks!

Hi FDS...
Sorry to interrupt, but I am hoping this might be helpful.
I am unable to see '2020-10-27 18_20_30-Clipboard.png' either, so I am not sure what that shows.
But this might be what you are looking for...
