The first thing to do to get started is read the description of the software.

People get ToDoList for their own specific purposes and usually tailor the software to suit their usage. But for a newcomer it's a challenge to understand what the options are. “How can I 'tailor' it to suit my needs if I don't know how it works in the first place?”

It's important first know what a task is. See Defining Tasks.

If it looks like ToDoList will do what you need, check out the Installation instructions. If you don't like it, just delete the main folder, visit the Getting Help page, and please let us know why you don’t think ToDoList will work for you.
